Line By Line

What You’re Actually
Paying For

Most drone quotes are one number and a handshake. You have no idea what you bought until the files land. So here is the whole thing — the rate card, every package broken into its parts, and what the rest of the market charges for the same work. Nothing is hidden behind “available on request.” Read it, price it yourself, then call me.

How a price gets built

There is no pricing algorithm here. There are three steps, and they run the same way every time.

01

One rate card, no exceptions

Flight time, editing, mapping, inspection, training — each one has a published rate. That rate does not move because of who is asking or how the property looks on Google Earth. Same card for a two-room B&B and a 400-key resort.

02

Your package is a sum, not a guess

A package is just the lines your job actually needs, multiplied out and added up. Every total on this page is that arithmetic. If you want to remove a line, the price drops by exactly that line.

03

The math gets checked against the market

Every rate below carries a note on what comparable operators publish. Some of mine sit under the market. A few sit above it, and I say why. You should not have to take a vendor’s word for whether a number is fair.

The rate card

Every line I sell, what it costs, and what the market charges for the same thing. This is the source everything else on this page is built from.

FLIGHT OPERATIONS

Line itemRateUnitWhat the market charges
Aerial Flight Operation (Traditional Drone)$250$ / hour, 90-min minimumCommercial Part 107 work runs $200–$400/hr nationally. This sits mid-band.
Half-Day Flight Coverage (up to 4 hrs)$700$ / half day58% of the day rate. Most destination and course work is a half day, and billing it hourly cost you more.
Full-Day Flight Coverage (up to 8 hrs)$1,450$ / daySolo-operator day rates cluster $1,000–$1,500. Flymark’s published 2026 card puts solo outdoor at $800–$1,800.
Additional Consecutive Day (multi-day bookings)$800$ / additional dayTwo-thirds of the day rate. The travel and the setup were already paid for on day one.
FPV Cinematic Fly-Through Sequence$450$ / sequence, up to 15 min flightFPV carries a 3–4× premium over standard aerial industry-wide; Flymark’s FPV-team day rate runs about 2× its solo rate.

POST-PRODUCTION

Line itemRateUnitWhat the market charges
Short Reel — Edit & Color Grade (60-90 sec)$400$ / deliverableSenior editor and colorist rates run $85–$150/hr, and a cinematic 60–90 second cut is about three hours. Flymark’s cheapest published edit tier starts at $400.
Extended / Campaign Cut (2-3 min)$850$ / deliverableFlymark’s Story edit tier runs $1,200–$3,000. This sits 29% under their floor.
Vertical Social Cutdown (:15-:30, 9:16)$65$ / cutdownSix cutdowns run $390 — about what one basic edit costs anywhere else.
Feature Vertical Cut (:30-:45, 9:16)$185$ / deliverable
Photo Stills Editing & Delivery$15$ / edited photoReal estate drone photo sets run $250–$290 standalone. Priced per photo here so you can see exactly what you bought.

SPECIALTY: MAPPING & INSPECTION

Line itemRateUnitWhat the market charges
Aerial Mapping Flight — Base Site (up to 10 acres)$650$ / visitPublished small-site mobilization minimums run $500–$750.
Additional Acreage (11-50 acres)$25$ / acrePublished mapping cards run $20–$80 an acre (Basemap $20 for 2D and $25+ for 3D; Recon Aerial $35 rural up to $60–$80 complex). This is the floor of that range.
2D Orthomosaic Processing$250$ / deliverableStandard photogrammetry deliverable — measurable, georeferenced, drops into your existing tools.
3D Model Processing (optional upgrade)$350$ / deliverableHigher-detail deliverable. Published 3D cards start around $25 an acre.
Recurring Monitoring Visit — Established Site$385$ / visitNobody publishes a rate for recurring construction monitoring. This is a real discount off the single-visit flight, because the site is already flown and the flight plan already exists.
Recurring Monitoring — 2D Processing (repeat)$200$ / deliverableRepeat-visit processing rate. Same reason — the hard setup happened on visit one.
Visual Inspection Flight — Single Property$210$ / property, up to 30 min on-siteResidential drone roof inspections run $150–$400 per property, $400–$600 with thermal.
Annotated Inspection Photo Report (15-20 images)$125$ / reportThe damage-flagged format adjusters actually prefer, instead of a folder of bare photos.
Additional Structure — Residential Outbuilding$85$ / additional structureDetached garage, barn or shed captured on the same visit.
Commercial Inspection Flight — Base Structure$425$ / structureCommercial roof inspections run $600–$900 for one building under 25,000 sq ft, scaling to $2,200–$3,500 at 100,000–250,000 sq ft.
Additional Commercial Structure$175$ / additional structureKeeps a multi-building campus inside the real per-building band instead of pricing it like a house.
Commercial Annotated Inspection Report$250$ / reportLarger image set, roof-area annotation, adjuster-ready.
Site Mobilization & Flight — Solar (up to 5 MW)$525$ / visitVisual scope. This is not a thermal/IR scan — that is a different job and a different number.
Additional MW Coverage (6-50 MW)$65$ / MWKeeps a 10 MW site near $110/MW — the floor of the published $100–$200/MW visual band, and well under the $150–$500/MW thermal range.
Solar Visual Inspection Report (annotated)$250$ / deliverableAnomalies flagged by string location. Soiling, cracking, shading, vegetation, physical damage.

FLIGHT TRAINING — FAA PART 107

Line itemRateUnitWhat the market charges
Part 107 Coaching Session — 1 Pilot (2 hrs)$295$ / sessionUAV Coach publishes $295 for one pilot over two hours. This matches it exactly.
Part 107 Coaching — Small Group (3 pilots)$195$ / personThree pilots totals $585. UAV Coach publishes $575 for three over three hours.
Part 107 Knowledge Test Crash Course$595$ / studentDARTdrones publishes $670 in person and $580 hands-on. This sits 11% under their in-person price — and it is one-on-one, which theirs is not.
Guided Practice Flight (1 hr, add-on)$295$ / sessionSame hour, same instructor, same insurance as a coaching session.

Flight Safety / Airspace Coordination$75$ / event or multi-site projectLAANC across multiple controlled-airspace sites, plus live coordination with track or venue officials.
Night / Weekend / Blue-Hour Premium1.25×multiplier on flight linesPublished night and weekend premiums run 1.25–1.5×. This takes the low end.

Rush Delivery Multiplier (sub-72hr)+25%multiplier on subtotalPublished rush-edit premiums run 25–50%. This is the bottom of that. 72 hours is the ceiling, not the target — most projects land sooner anyway.
Travel / Mobilization+70%$ / mile beyond 25-mi radiusFirst 25 miles included. Regional operators bill $150–$400 beyond 50 miles plus overnights at cost +15–20%. This is deliberately simpler and cheaper.

Where a rate sits under the market I left it there on purpose — I would rather book the work. Where it sits over, the reason is in the right-hand column. Multipliers stack on the base line, never on each other.

Hotels & Resorts

This is the one category where the position was already right, and the tiers hold it. Flymark’s published 2026 Property Showcase band is $2,500–$5,500 and their Brand Story packages start at $8,500. Tier A at $4,320 sits mid-band. Tier B at $6,570 sits between the two, which is where a two-day multi-venue resort build belongs. One framing note, because the number reads bigger than it behaves: Tier A works out to about $360 a month across a year of campaigns, and it does not stop working when a media buy would have.

Hospitality Content Retainers

The honest solo-operator hospitality retainer band is about $1,500–$3,500 a month. Travel Media Group sits at $355/mo and does not shoot anything. Velena runs £1,800/mo in the UK and does. A crewed agency like ThinkRaven starts at $7,500–$10,000+. So Seasonal at $1,500 is the floor of the solo band, Signature at $3,250 is near the top of it, and Portfolio at $6,000 is still under where crewed agencies begin. Each one is a real discount off the card above — 30%, 37% and 22% — and the math for that is printed below, not asserted. Those discounts got better in July 2026 without the retainer price moving a dollar: the walk-in rates went up and the committed rate held. That is what a retainer is supposed to do.

Card price: SIGNATURE RETAINER $3,250/mo — $39,000/year. That is 37% off the à la carte total.

PORTFOLIO PROGRAM — MULTI-PROPERTY

Twelve drops a year across a property group, same deliverable set as Signature. At card rates that is 12 × $7,725 = $92,700.

Card price: PORTFOLIO PROGRAM from $6,000/mo — $72,000/year. That is 22% off the à la carte total.

Multi-property groups are quoted per property against the same math, with travel consolidated across the portfolio.

WHY A RETAINER AND NOT PER-SHOOT

Honest market context, said plainly: a solo operator hospitality retainer band runs about $1,500-$3,500/mo. Travel Media Group sits at $355/mo but does not shoot anything. Velena runs £1,800/mo in the UK and does include shooting. Cogwheel spans $300-$1,500/mo. A crewed agency like ThinkRaven starts at $7,500-$10,000+/mo.

The budget argument for a resort GM: STR data has US hoteliers spending under 2.5% of room revenue on all marketing. A $10M-room-revenue resort is therefore spending roughly $250,000 total, and a $39,000 Signature program is about 16% of that - for the visual asset library that every other line in the budget depends on.

Destination / In-Market Packages

This is not a discount, it is geography. A property in Bali, or any resort market outside the continental US, cannot get this work from a US operator without covering flights, lodging and mobilization — commonly several thousand dollars before a single frame is shot. Being physically in market deletes that line entirely. $2,800 buys a package that would carry a $2,000+ travel charge from anyone flying in.

Weddings, Festivals & Events

This is aerial coverage handed to whoever is already shooting the day, not a replacement for your videographer. The national average for wedding videography is $2,300 (The Knot, 2025, n=10,474), and only about 43% of wedding videographers own a drone. That gap is the entire reason this line exists.

Motorsports

Half-day $1,625, full day $2,375, race weekend $4,075 plus credentials at cost. This sits above the published operator numbers — roughly $1,200–$1,500 for a full day and $2,000–$2,500 for a weekend — and it is worth saying why rather than hiding it. Track work carries overhead that never shows up on an invoice: standing FAA TFRs bar drones within 3 nautical miles of any 30,000-seat speedway below 3,000 ft AGL, INDYCAR requires written approval under Rule 1.5, and IMSA 2026 credentialing alone runs $375 license plus $650 access plus $375 admin. Somebody has to clear all of that before a motor spins.

Construction Progress & Mapping

A 10-acre single visit is $1,080. A 50-acre site lands at $2,080, which works out to roughly $42 an acre all in, against published mapping cards at $20–$80. Recurring monitoring is the one corner of this business where nobody publishes anything, so this sets the number — and it is a real discount off the single-visit rate, because on visit two the flight plan already exists.

Roofing & Insurance Inspection

Residential at $335 sits high in the published $150–$400 band, and the reason is the annotated report; most of those quotes are imagery only. Commercial is where the market is blunt: $600–$900 for a single building under 25,000 sq ft, up to $2,200–$3,500 at 100,000–250,000. One commercial structure here is $675.

Solar Farm Inspection

$110 a megawatt, at the floor of the published $100–$200/MW visual band. This is visual, not thermal — thermal runs $150–$500/MW and is a separate scope, and you should not buy this expecting an IR scan. The argument for it is time: one pilot covers 50–100 MW in a day against a multi-day manual walk in heat, around live equipment.

Real Estate Listings

There used to be a $925 standard listing here and it was wrong — priced against the commercial band and sold to residential agents who get quoted $450–$700 for photo-plus-video. It is gone. What replaces it is a $650 Single-Property Feature: one flight window, one :45 vertical, six edited stills, back in 72 hours, and credited in full against anything bigger booked inside 30 days. That is a first purchase somebody can approve without a meeting. Above it, Signature at $1,375 adds the FPV flythrough, and the Estate Film at $3,500 sits at the top of the $2,000–$3,500 band cinematic listing films actually go for.

The published venue-flyover consensus is $695–$700 — Canon Moment at $695, Blue Lava at $700, JCL at $699. Every one of those is a flyover with single-use licensing and a final cut. $925 buys the flyover plus an FPV sequence, plus unlimited use, plus the raw. That is the difference, stated plainly.

Nobody publishes a rate card for brewery aerial work. What does exist: winery aerial at $750–$800, and winery video packages at $1,750, $2,500 and $3,500. $1,790 lands at the bottom of the video band — and this is a video package, not a flyover.

FAA Part 107 Training & Coaching

UAV Coach charges $295 for one pilot over two hours and $575 for three over three hours. DARTdrones charges $670 in person, $580 hands-on, $250 for the online course. The rates here match the first and undercut the second. The difference is that theirs is a curriculum and this is coaching from someone who has been flying commercially for a decade. The thing that fails people on the knowledge test is almost never the flying — it is sectional charts, airspace classes and weather minimums, and the answer to “can I legally fly this job” is always situational.

These are alternatives, not a running total

WHY THESE NUMBERS

Direct comparison, verified from the providers' own published pages: UAV Coach charges $295 for one person over two hours, $485 for two people over 2.5 hours, and $575 for three people over three hours. DARTdrones charges $580 for hands-on training, $670 for in-person Part 107, $250 for their online course, and $1,490-$3,725 for specialty tracks.

$295 matches UAV Coach exactly for the same format. $195 per pilot in a group of three totals $585 against UAV Coach's $575 for the same three-pilot session. $595 for the crash course sits between DARTdrones' $250 online-only and $670 in-person options - and it is one-on-one, which neither of theirs is.

What justifies matching the national providers: they teach from a curriculum. This is coaching from someone who has been flying commercially for a decade and can answer the question the manual does not cover.

These show up as $0 in every breakdown below. Not a promotion — they are the reason the totals sit where they do.

Unlimited usage rightsWebsite, paid social, OTA listings, trade print, sales decks. No renewal fee, no per-channel license. Most vendors sell single use and charge again next year.
Licensing & insurancePart 107 certification, active liability coverage and FAA recurrent training are folded into the flight rate. Never a line item, never a surprise on the invoice.
Raw + graded footageYou get the source files, color-graded, on every project. Your team can recut it for years. Most operators hand over the finished edit and keep the rest.
First 25 miles of travelInside 25 miles there is no travel charge. Past that it is $0.70 a mile, stated up front on the quote, not discovered later.
Two of those four are the whole argument for my pricing. A cheaper flyover that licenses you for one season and keeps the raw is not cheaper — it is a rental. This is a purchase.
